Massage Therapy is an art and science of healing which simultaneously addresses the whole person – mind, body and spirit. As an LMT, I integrate complimentary modalities to prevent injury and disease, and promote optimal health. I invite you to join me on this wonderful journey of healing.
ABOUT YOUR THERAPIST
Kate Weeks, LMT, RN
Kate Weeks has been a practicing LMT for over 10 years, working and studying to refine her craft across the country. A native of the Black Hills she has practiced in Boulder, CO, Honolulu, HI, San Francisco, CA, Finger Lake, AK, and Little Rock, AR before coming full circle to return to Rapid City.
Her interest in massage and the healing arts was born out of her own journey through injury recovery as the physical demands of her rigorous schedule and active lifestyle took a toll on her body.
Her exploration during this healing process of everything from eastern medicine and acupuncture, to yoga and Alexander Technique revealed a whole new passion and ultimately, a profound desire to help others using her personal experience and innate healing talents.
She earned her credentials as a massage therapist by completing a 500-hour training course at the Headlines Academy of Massage under Leah Ludwig and Tim Faiman while simultaneously earning her Reiki level III practitioner training at the Gaia Wellness Center under Cynthia Dumdey.
Continuing on, she attended the world-renowned Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA, participating in an intense program under Jessica Fagan and Tom Case. At Harbin School of Healing Arts in Middletown, CA under Andrew Yavelow, she studied principals of Shiatsu, Thai-Yoga Massage and Harbin's own Watsu massage. Kate still continues to grow her skill set with subsequent training in Hot Stone Massage, Lomi-Lomi, Deep-Tissue and Sports Massage.
Kate recently graduated from USD Nursing School and is a RN at Rapid City Regional Hospital in the
Labor & Deliver, Postpartum, NICU and Pediatrics units. She is also a classically trained professional violist and plays in the Black Hills Symphony in her spare time. She is the proud mother of a 16-month-old, Sylvan, 6-month-old boy-girl twins, Bertie & Bodi, and a wiener-dog, Merle. She and her fiance enjoy getting out for adventures on the beautiful trails of the Black Hills with their children.
Empower & Heal
My approach to massage is holistic in that I am devoted to honoring the body, mind and spirit of my clientele as a whole. By varying techniques, rhythms and integrating breath-work, I aim to coax the body into a deeper state of rest where it is most receptive to change.
My mission is encouraging a return to one’s natural state of equilibrium - physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
